About
Advanced Care
BACKGROUND
Advanced Care Pharmacy is a registered online pharmacy located at Cleckheaton Bus Station, Dewsbury Road, Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, BD19 5DL. The name of the pharmacy was chosen because it accurately reflected the services that will be provided by Fatima Fakech, our Superintendent Pharmacist, and on-site experienced Clinical Practitioner in General Practice.

Fatima Fakech graduated from Pharmacy school at the University of Huddersfield. She went to study a Diploma in Clinical Prescribing Pharmacy at the University of Bradford. She then went on to study further a master’s degree as a Clinical Practitioner at the University of Leeds. She was trained by an experienced GP and hospital Consultants in Acute Medicine, Respiratory, Women’s and Child’s health. She completed a Master certificate in Paediatrics and Neonates Medicine because she has a particular interest in children's health. She shaped her interests and skills, enabling a deeper interest in community settings to provide the best care for her patients. She is currently completing a PhD in Diabetes at the University of Huddersfield.

Away from work, Fatima enjoys spending time with her family and her three children. She is very active on social media with a public following, known as livewellfatima on Instagram where she shares snapshots from her personal and professional life. She has a passion for preventing diseases from happening and helping patients with self-management and increasing awareness on certain medical topics.  Fatima Fakech, our Superintendent Pharmacist says "Our mission is to provide our patients with great and dependable service together with simple and convenient access to medications."

Healthier You – The Healthier You NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme
The free Healthier You NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme provides guidance on eating healthily, managing weight and being more active. It is a sustained lifestyle change programme, delivered locally, in local settings. Although the programme is normally delivered in groups at different times and locations, right now it’s offered over telephone or group video conference, or online through apps and websites. Materials in this campaign area have been designed to help you communicate with people who are at high risk of developing Type 2 diabetes and therefore eligible for the programme, and with healthcare professionals who can refer into the programme. Healthier You is a sister brand to One You, the adult health campaign from Public Health England. Materials here can also be used to help y

The campaign also targets friends and family members to encourage loved ones to contact their GP practice if they are experiencing the key symptom of lung cancer. The campaign will run in England across TV, catch up TV services, radio, PR, p

Quit smoking
We’re delighted to announce that our annual mass participation stop smoking campaign, Stoptober, is back this October! Now in its 11th year, Stoptober is a great opportunity to encourage smokers to make a quit attempt and help them sustain it throughout October and beyond. This year’s campaign will reach smokers through a range of media including radio, video on demand and out-of-home display; with an emphasis on targeting smokers aged 25 to 50 from lower socio-economic groups who work in routine and manual jobs. The messaging of the campaign will be ‘You’ve got what it takes to quit this Stoptober’; encouraging smokers to quit not only by promoting the benefits of quitting, but also to give them confidence that they can quit successfully.
